However, the way it works made many laugh and Microsoft knows it very well since one of its research and development facilities has been listed as a gas station.
The Redmond-based software giant has an immense opportunity to make it into the world of iPhone apps with its very own Bing Maps tool that already offers an iOS version.
The only problem is that Microsoft hasn?t updated the application in the last month and with Apple?s Maps doing such terrible mistakes, many believe that it?s the time for Microsoft to join the game.
The company, on the other hand, doesn?t want to comment on the matter and according to a Neowin story, it doesn?t even intend to release any information on future updates.
?Bing has a solid existing experience for iPhone customers. We don?t have anything to share about future plans or updates,? the company said in a statement.
Nonetheless, Google is apparently planning to take the most out of this situation and is reportedly developing its own mapping service for iOS service. The Mountain View-based search company hasn?t provided any information on the matter, but sources familiar with the issue suggest that Google is indeed very interested in getting back on iPhones with a specially developed mapping solution.
However, it remains to be seen whether Apple approves the app to be showcased in Apple Store.
